It's nearly time...

With a little over a week to go until the script read-through and auditions, there is a buzz of excitement in the air! It's hard to believe a year has rolled around already but here we are. Everything takes place at The Hub and full details can be found here. Hope to see you there!

Rustic Fayre 2013

Our stall at Verwood's annual Rustic Fayre was a great success, as always. Lots & lots of entries for our wine raffle. The weather was extremely kind too - phew! A BIG thank you to the following people for volunteering to run it throughout the day: Richard, Daniel, Lexi, Vanessa, Mark, Marion, Diana, Mike, Rob, Marie, Laura, Barrie, Nick, Jenny, Naomi, Bethany, Lynn and Andy. Great work team!

Upcoming read-through & auditions

We are busy preparing for our next production - Pinocchio (the Pantomime) by Peter Long and Keith Rawnsley. This year however, things are slightly different regarding new recruits.

Everyone over the age of 12 is welcome to join us for the read-through on Tuesday 10th September at 7.30pm at the Hub. Auditions will then be held on Friday 13th September at 7.30pm, also at the Hub, but only current paid up cast members and those who were in the Wizard of Oz will be eligible to audition for a principal role. These people are also guaranteed a place in the adult and junior chorus if they would like one and don't want a principal role. Everyone else will be classed as a new member. This is due to the popularity of the group and space limitations on stage and in the dressing room.

Depending on how many new people want to join, we may also have to audition new adult and junior chorus members. We won't know how many spaces we will have in the chorus until after the auditions. Chorus auditions for both age groups, if needed, will be held on Tuesday 17th September at 7.30pm at the Hub.

Chairman Sue Gardiner said "this is the first time in 29 years that the Society have been in such a fortunate position to be almost full of such talented people. We have never had to turn people away in the past but this year may be different. Most years we have had a natural loss of members as people move away or go to university etc but this year we have lost very few and therefore we just haven't got room for too many new recruits".

If anyone would like more information then please contact us using the details on our contact us page.
