Verwood Pantomime Society are always looking for new Members. If you are interested in joining why not give us a call, or email us for more information.

The read-through and auditions are usually held on separate evenings in early September. From then on we rehearse once or twice a week through to the last full week of January when the show opens at the Hub.

The week before the show the rehearsals increase to almost every evening. Show week consists of matinee and evening shows on two Saturdays, and evening shows on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday inbetween.

Subs are minimal at just £30 per year for adults and £20 for juniors (under-18). We try our best to provide most costume items needed. You may be asked to provide a pair of shoes suitable to dance in and the occasional particular colour t-shirt but our aim is to make the Society affordable to all.

If treading the boards is not for you or it is decided we are unable to take newcomers on stage this year,  there are numerous back-stage roles including wardrobe assistants, set builders/painters, make-up ladies, stage crew, and front of house staff to sell raffle tickets, programmes etc.

Everyone's role is hugely important and whether you are taking a main part or selling programmes, the show wouldn’t happen without a massive amount of teamwork.

Membership is open to anyone from school year 7 and many Members are still taking part into their 70’s. In fact one of our important lighting crew was still helping us as he approached his 90th birthday!

As well as the annual show there is a big social calender too and all Members' friends and family are welcome to join us for the wide variety of events, including skittles, BBQ, theatre trips and more.

The Society has built an excellent reputation over the years for its professional-style productions but we are also proud of the way everyone is welcomed as a new friend.
