Make-up Department

Over the years many people have assisted with this busy department. These ladies research their subjects for the year's particular show and produce the various animal faces, evil-eyed Wicked Witch of the North, the Dame's rosy cheeks and scarlet lips, and sparkly fairy faces to compliment so well with the lovely costumes.

Everything starts with a base foundation and everyone in the cast is made up for the show so make up time usually starts about 2 hours before curtain up.

Just about when they think have finished the lippy and the blusher for the opening number it's time to refresh everyone after the interval and those cups of tea have washed away their artwork.

They are always looking for extra hands to deal with the endless queue of faces needing make up so why not contact us and offer your help.

Front Of House

The number of volunteers has grown enormously for Front of House. Whether they are selling programmes or showing you to your seat, everyone's role is vital in the smooth running of the show. One of our longest standing Members, John Middleton, manages our ever-growing list of people on the rota each year and his wife Linda and Founder Member Ruth Long are the organisers of the very popular raffle drawn at the end of the show.

Wardrobe

Big thanks to the huge team of ladies who work tirelessly sewing endless fairy dresses, munchkins, dames' gowns and various animal costumes, etc.

Our team of wardrobe assistants work quietly away in the background and are never seen by the cast as they prefer to do a little sewing at home but the amazing array of costumes would not be possible without a massive amount of teamwork by this department.

If anyone would like to join our wardrobe ladies please contact us for details.

Sound & Lighting Department

Managed by Iain Clifton & Russ Wyatt, this department has seen many assistants of all ages. From the very young Members who want to be involved with the techie side of the show and take a turn at operating the follow-spots, to the Society's more mature gentlemen like Frank Marsh who was still actively helping with the lighting up until he died aged 90. Frank is very sadly missed by everyone in the Society.

Stage Crew

Managed for many years by Richard Himson, a large proportion of this team are part of the production team too and, as well as moving scenery and props during the show spend many months attending planning meetings and then making the large props in their garages, sheds etc.

Many of these people are now retired and so we are  always looking for new people to join them and become involved. Please contact us for details if you’d like to help.
